Why we began Mus’haf

There are many good Qur’an apps already. We wanted a simple, user-friendly app that felt familiar to people used to reading a printed Mushaf, with useful audio and memorisation tools alongside it.

The familiar page artwork and 13-line layout in Mus’haf come from Qamar Apps’ licensed Quran 13 Line source material. Noor Technologies Ltd did not create that underlying artwork or originate the printed layout. Our work has focused on the digital experience around it: navigation, playback, ayah highlighting, memorisation and revision tools, downloads, and support for different devices.

What began as a simple idea grew as more possibilities became apparent during development. The result is the reading, listening and Hifz app we have today, and there is still more we want to improve.

One edition. A wider project.

Mus’haf 13 Line Quran is our first edition. The wider Mus’haf project may explore other familiar layouts, including a 15-line edition, in time. There is no release date to announce.
