Frequently asked questions
A little clarity,
before you begin.
Practical answers about the coming Android app, its pricing, listening and memorisation tools, and your own data.
Getting started
What is Mus’haf 13 Line Quran?
It is a Qur’an reading and memorisation app built around the familiar, fixed 13-line Indo-Pak Mushaf layout. It combines the printed-page experience with ayah audio, repeat playback, bookmarks and Hifz tools. It is designed for people who value a familiar page, whether reading daily, learning a passage or revising.
Can I download it now?
The Android app is being prepared for public launch. Google Play is coming soon; there is no public download link yet. The screenshots and demo on this website show the genuine current Android app.
Is the app free?
Installation will be free, with a 14-day full-access trial from the first successful app launch. After the trial, core reading remains free. The advanced feature set can be unlocked with an optional £5.99 one-off purchase under the current UK pricing structure. Local app-store prices may vary outside the UK.
What remains free after the trial?
Reading the complete Mushaf, navigation by Surah, Juz or page, bookmarks, basic favourites, page-layout settings and returning to your last-read position. Audio, playlist playback, memorisation tools, recordings, downloads and Drive backup/restore require the full unlock after the trial.
Why is there a charge for the app?
We have chosen not to fund Mus’haf through advertising or a monthly subscription. Developing and maintaining the app still has ongoing costs: infrastructure and services, maintenance, compatibility with future Android and iOS releases, the website, and continued development. A modest one-off payment for the full feature set helps cover those costs and support ongoing work, while keeping payment straightforward.
Is there a subscription?
There is currently no monthly or annual subscription. The full unlock is a separate one-off purchase. The trial does not automatically become a purchase and no payment is taken automatically when it ends.
Is the one-off purchase a lifetime licence?
Under our current pricing structure, the full feature set will be available for a one-off payment of £5.99, with no monthly subscription. We do not currently envisage recurring charges for the same access. This is not marketed as a lifetime licence or a guarantee that pricing will never change. As the app, its services and operating costs develop, Noor Technologies Ltd may review pricing for future products, features or offerings. Any changes would respect existing purchases, the terms on which they were made, and applicable consumer rights.
Are there adverts?
No. The app is not funded through advertising, and this website does not use advertising trackers.
Listening & memorisation
Which reciters are available?
The eight intended public reciters are Shaykh Abdul Basit Abdus-Samad, Shaykh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, Shaykh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary, Shaykh Mishary Rashid Alafasy, Shaykh Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi, Shaykh Saud Al-Shuraim, Shaykh Yasser Al-Dosari and Qāriʾ Fatih Seferagic. Choose a reciter in the app and follow the ayah highlighting as you listen.
Can I listen offline?
Yes, once you have downloaded the relevant recitation using an internet connection. The app shows which downloads are available offline and lets you manage their storage. Offline audio is included in the full-access trial and the full unlock.
Can I repeat an individual ayah?
Yes. Select an ayah and use the repeat control to hear it a set number of times or continuously until you stop. You can also adjust playback speed to suit your practice.
Can I select and repeat a range of ayahs?
Yes. Select the start and end of a passage, then use range playback and repeat. This lets you return to the same passage while learning or revising.
What is Conceal / Reveal?
It lets you hide the selected text while practising recall, then reveal it to check yourself. It is a practice aid alongside the original Mushaf page, not an automatic assessment of your recitation.
How does the memorisation functionality work?
Use Memorise, ayah or range repeat, Conceal / Reveal and optional practice recordings to work on a passage. The Hifz planner keeps your learning status and revision activity together. Progress is based on what you record; the app does not automatically judge pronunciation or memorisation.
What is Sabak and revision tracking?
Sabak is the passage you are currently learning. Set or change that passage, then use the planner to organise revision of material you have learnt. Record how a revision session went and revisit your activity in history.
Can I record my own practice?
Yes. You can choose to make a practice recording and listen back to it. Microphone permission is used for that recording action. The app does not listen passively or automatically grade your recitation.
Organisation & devices
Can I save bookmarks and favourites?
Yes. A bookmark helps you return to a reading place. Favourites let you save a Surah, ayah or range. Creating and managing basic bookmarks and favourites remains free after the trial.
Can I create playlists or groups?
Yes. Organise favourites into groups and arrange them in Qur’an order or your chosen order. Play a saved item on its own or listen through a group as a playlist. Audio and playlist playback are part of the full feature set.
Does it work on tablets and foldable devices?
The Android app supports phone, tablet and foldable layouts, including single-page reading and a two-page spread where the screen allows. The genuine examples on this site were captured on representative Android phone, tablet and unfolded-foldable emulator profiles; they do not imply certification for every device.
Is an internet connection always required?
No. Once the Mushaf is installed, reading works offline. Downloaded recitation can also play offline with the trial or full unlock. An internet connection is needed for initial delivery, streaming, new downloads, Google Drive backup/restore, and purchasing or restoring a purchase.
Backup & changing phones
Can I back up my data?
Optional Google Drive backup covers lightweight reading data such as bookmarks, favourites/groups, Hifz progress, planner/history, notes where saved, settings and last-read state. Downloaded recitation audio, reciter cache, trial state, purchase entitlement, diagnostics and review/test data are excluded. Backup and restore are part of the full feature set. Public-release Drive authorisation still needs to be finalised before launch.
Where is my backup stored?
In the private application-data area of your own Google Drive, using the Google account you authorise. It is not a central Mus’haf user database and may not appear as an ordinary file in My Drive. Google sign-in is optional and is not needed for reading.
Are downloaded recitations included in Google Drive backup?
No. Downloaded recitation audio is excluded from Drive backup. Download it separately on your new device so your personal backup stays lightweight.
Are practice recordings backed up?
Practice recordings are stored locally by default. The recordings-backup option is off by default; enabling automatic backup does not enable it. Practice recordings are excluded from Drive backups by default. You can explicitly enable Back up practice recordings in Settings → Access, backup & privacy. This choice is separate from automatic backup. If enabled, saved practice recordings are included with the backup in your own Google Drive and may use significant space from your Google Drive allowance. The app shows an approximate size for recordings on your device. Leaving this option off keeps backups lightweight. Turning it off does not delete recordings already on your device or remove recordings from earlier Drive backups. Backups are limited to 512 MB before compression. If a recording-inclusive backup is too large, you can turn recording backup off and back up normal app data. A failed backup does not delete your local recordings.
Do I have to restore practice recordings?
The app offers the latest matching backup. Before downloading it, you choose whether to restore normal app data only or also practice recordings, where the backup contains them. Recording restore is off by default. The app shows the archive download size when available; older backups may have an unknown size. A combined archive is downloaded in full even if you skip restoring recordings, so it may be large. You can cancel before downloading. A further confirmation is required before replacing local app data, with a warning if local data is newer. Skipping recording restore preserves your existing local recordings and recording settings. Choosing recording restore replaces local recordings with those in the backup; records are not silently merged. Authorisation, network or full-Drive failures do not remove local data or recordings.
What happens if Google Drive backup fails?
Google Drive sign-in and backup are optional. Normal app use does not depend on Drive. Network failure, full Drive storage, authentication failure or Drive errors do not remove local app data or recordings. You can continue using local data and recordings without Drive, including after a failed backup.
What happens if I change phones?
Make and confirm a successful backup on your old phone first. On the new Android device, install the public app, restore your purchase with the Google Play account that owns it, then restore your reading data from the Google account holding the backup. Download recitation audio again. Keep the old installation until your data is safely restored. Drive backups do not contain purchase entitlement, and transfer to a future iOS edition is not promised.
Future editions & feedback
Will there be a 15-line version?
We may explore a 15-line edition as the wider Mus’haf project develops. The current product is Mus’haf 13 Line Quran. A 15-line release and its timing have not been confirmed.
Is the iPhone or iOS version available?
Not yet. iOS is planned, with no confirmed public release date. Its features, purchase arrangements and device support will be confirmed separately.
